Installation in Tbilisi, Georgia – Paragraph Tabori Presidential Room

Last October I traveled to Tbilisi, Georgia, to personally oversee the assembly of a wall installation for the Presidential Room at Paragraph Tabori. The client specifically requested my presence.

My works are typically delivered with detailed installation maps that allow the client to complete the mounting independently; however, when requested, I am pleased to travel and manage the installation myself to ensure full adherence to the project. It was my first time in Georgia, and I greatly appreciated the opportunity to discover the beautiful town of Tbilisi and its history.

I had the pleasure of giving a lecture about myself and my work in Jingdezhen during the Taoxichuan Spring & Autumn Fair in October 2024.

This international event is organized by Jingdezhen Towyi Cultural Development Co. and is a prestigious fair dedicated to promoting ceramic art.

It was an honor for me to participate in the forum program, talk about my work and meet international artists from around the world.

TAOXICHUAN SPRING & AUTUMN ART FAIR – JINGDEZHEN, CHINA

In October 2024 I was officially invited to participate in the 2024 China-Jingdezhen Taoxichuan Spring & Autumn Fair held in Jingdezhen, China city known as the “porcelain capital” for its long tradition in porcelain making, which dates back to more than 1,700 years.

This international event is organized by Jingdezhen Towyi Cultural Development Co. and is a prestigious art and design fair dedicated to promoting ceramic art.

The event, held annually in spring and fall, is an outstanding opportunity for artists, galleries, art schools and designers to meet, present their works and exchange ideas in a global context. The fair offers a varied program, including a marketplace, exhibitions and forums that foster dialogue among artists from around the world.

It was an honor for me to represent my work, meet international artists and immerse myself in Jingdezhen’s vibrant art scene.

On the occasion of the MILAN DESIGN WEEK 2022 some of my works will be part of [C] – Italian Studio Ceramics, the first auction dedicated to Italian Contemporary Ceramics organised by @eshgallery (Via Forcella 7, Milan).

The auction, which will be held online on eshgallery.com from 6 to 20 June, will be presented together with an exhibition illustrating the Italian ceramic panorama between sculpture, applied art and design.

In a Crowded Silence- Silvia Granata’s Solo Ceramics Exhibition 2019.08.23 – 10.06 Opening reception with Silvia Granata: 2019.08.23 (FRI) 6:30pm Touch Ceramics is proud to hold a solo exhibition for Silvia Granata, a talented ceramic artist who is famous for her works with thousands of porcelain segments applied one next to the other in order to represent flows: a structured rhythm made of full and empty spaces, of concave and convex particles, of shades of colours. You may first think for a group of crowded peaks when you see her works. When you look closer, they are more like some tender feathers aligning in a certain direction. And when you try to trace the direction of the works, you have then entered a silent and peaceful world. Silvia is an award winner in ceramics around the world. In the past six years, she has almost 30 exhibitions in Europe as well as Asia, while her works have also been collected by a number of museums. This exhibition is also her first solo exhibition in Asia. We sincerely invite to you come to he exhibition, and explore a new dimension of contemporary ceramics art.

Clay collective – International ceramic symposium
At “La Casina” in Figline and Incisa Valdarno (Province of Florence), 3 – 11 August 2019
Dialogue and constructive exchange between professionals are necessary elements for the success of a
symposium; the term originally also referred to convivial and conversation moments in which to give space
to the debate. With these premises, a group of ceramic artists has planned a real symposium, sharing the
desire to experiment with clay-mediated contemporary art.
The idea, cradled for years by Karin Putsch-Grassi, a German-Italian ceramist trained in London and long
residing in Tuscany, has become a reality; the purchase and renovation of an eighteenth-century farmhouse
called “La Casina” in the Leopoldino land registry, went hand in hand with the desire to actively confront
other ceramists. Other promoters of the initiative areEvandro Gabrieli, Roman ceramist, creator and organizer of many collective initiatives, and
Silvia Granata, from Cesena who won awards in numerousinternational ceramic competitions. After years of meetings on various occasions, with a frenetic personal activity full of satisfaction in Italy and abroad, the group has identified a new possibility for artistic growth in
the form of the symposium. The invitation was therefore extended to other artists such as:
Helene Kirchmair,Laura Scopa and Antonio Taschini. Each artist brings very different knowledge and
experience, refined over the years both on a technical and stylistic level. Identities that are highly
recognizable, but equally motivated to engage in dialogue and capture interesting ideas in the work of others
and, perhaps, future possible collaborations.
The initiative, unlike other international symposia supported by institutional bodies, was born and developed
among professional ceramists; however, a time of opening to the public is foreseen in which you can preview
the work done. Among other purposes, the symposium intends to be a stimulus for sharing best practices. For
this reason the group has decided to address the work in residence towards modular forms; the single parts
ideally assembled will constitute a large installation adaptable to future display situations.
Preliminary to work in residence, each participating artist was asked to deal with a single work, one of the
modules identified as a unit of collective work. The comparison between the expressive registers of each one
will be the vital spark for the interaction between the artists; during the residency period, participants will
have the opportunity to work effectively in work pairs. Another technical characteristic chosen by the
participants is to work with a single type of high temperature clay, possibly decorated with engobes and
glazes.
During the period of cohabitation, moments of presentation of the individual works are planned in order to
make the individual artistic instances more comprehensively understood.
The symposium to be held from
3 to 11 August 2019
at “La Casina” in Figline and Incisa Valdarno, is the
first event hosted in the new artistic space inserted in the Chianti hills. The recently restored rustic
environment has been redesigned to accommodate groups of artists who want to develop and explore artistic
themes of all kinds.
